We are looking forward to our Veterans Day ceremony and hope that you and your family can join us at the Veterans Memorial site.  Mark your calendars for Friday, November 10, 2023, at 11 a.m.  Please note that this is one day earlier than the official Veterans Day.

We have installed all pavers ordered since Veterans Day 2022.  If you ordered a paver during this period, pavers were placed in the first paver zone as you approach the flagpole.  Here is a rough sketch of their location.  We hope you and your family will join us for the ceremony.  Take and share your photos with family and friends and maybe even encourage their participation in an upcoming event.  Watch our Facebook page for additional stories, photos, and activities.  Visit: https://www.facebook.com/orangecountyveteransmemorial/

What’s coming next?

The next phase of construction at the memorial, Phase IV, is in progress.  Our preliminary plans have been reviewed and are about to go out for bidding.  Phase IV includes our street-side entranceway, a welcoming kiosk, and the walkway.

We are also working on publishing online a list of all memorial pavers to include an image of the paver.

Making donations or ordering a paver.

We have been raising funds and offering pavers for quite a few years and we are faced with new construction cost challenges. Our fundraising is to fully fund the memorial, establish a perpetual care fund, and provide an opportunity for the community and friends of the Memorial to place a paver to honor a veteran.

Paver cost is just a fraction of the cost to place them.  Existing blank pavers are removed and then a mason carefully places, levels, and seals the new pavers.  That takes a number of masons, their time, equipment, and travel.  It could cost several thousand dollars to install just a few pavers.  For that reason, we have changed the paver installations to once a year for Veterans Day.  We have also adjusted the donation amount needed for a paver.  All donations are gladly accepted.

Donating.

You can still help us get closer to completing the Orange County Veterans Memorial project by making a personal, family, business, or corporate donation to the Orange County Veterans Memorial, Inc.

Share your personal paver story on Facebook or other social media.  It’s part of your family story and it should be shared.  We would appreciate a good word about our Memorial and maybe a suggestion that your friends consider ordering a paver.

Our Legacy Perpetual Fund.

A fairly new opportunity exists for legacy donations.  The Orange County Veterans Memorial is building a perpetual fund to cover upkeep and repair or further improvements.  Can you help us build this fund?  We can accept end-year tax deductible required distributions from 401K  accounts, transfer of property, stock, or other securities.  If your employer offers matching funds for charitable purposes, ask them to include the Orange County Veterans Memorial.

The Orange County Veterans Memorial is a gift to future generations and is our way of honoring those who served.  Any veteran can be honored.  Some donors have requested pavers to honor brothers, close friends, or local veteran groups.  You can make your donation directly to us or by donating through the Orange County Community Giving Fund.  Orange County Veterans Memorial, Inc., is an approved IRS 501(c)(3) Charity.  Your donation is considered a tax-deductible donation to a charitable organization.  Contact us for more information.
