American Legion Post 6
The American Legion and its hundreds of veterans have served Chapel Hill since 1919. Their members have included average Joe’s and notable citizens.
Their ranks have and do include doctors, nurses, business owners, teachers, realtors writers, builders, lawyers, state officers, judges, and so much more.
Some returned home to Chapel Hill. Some came to attend the University of North Carolina. Some came for the Navy’s V-2 Program and returned after the war. Some joined family who settled in our town. All came and made our town what it is today. Learn more about the American Legion, its members, and its legacy.
